My name is e.w. parris. I’m a son, a brother, a father, and a grandfather. I have been a graphic designer for over 35 years and a developer for over 20 years. I’ve learned 8 scripting or programming languages since I started with Commodore Basic in 1983. By my admittedly rough estimate I’ve spent over 10,000 hours learning programming languages. I’ve gotten pretty good at it. I currently code in Swift, Javascript, HTML, and CSS every day.

I have a job as a mobile/web designer/developer at K12 Inc., a company that develops digital courseware for online and brick-and-mortar schools. I am a true believer in digital education tools even if I don’t see it living up to it’s highest potential very often. I work every day trying to use what skills I have to push the state of that art higher and farther in the hopes it will help push all of education forward. I do this because I think the only hope my country specifically and the world in general has lies in educating all of its citizens to their highest potential.
