It takes some time to learn how to learn. It isn’t actively taught in school unless you have some very special teachers. The problem is, there’s just so much stuff to learn to get you out into the world to start earning your keep. Schools have to get you in and start cramming you full of information before you’ve really mastered using a toilet properly. Young minds aren’t in a shape to examine their place in the world or to start to examine the meta-cognitive nature of how they can best approach learning.
